Да нет, to dip это окунать, а макать именно dunk. Посуду модно так мыть, например, в двух раковинах: splash-whoosh-whoosh-dunk-dunk-clean!
Не веришь, посмотри в словарях, там самый изюитый пример "She dunked the piece of bread in the sauce".
